Happy New Year! 🎊 What? It’s already February, you say?

Indeed. We are, at this point, well into 2019. I said it last year, and I think it bears repeating: there is no magic in January 1. I actually think it’s interesting we put all of this stock into the beginning of the new year and abounding resolutions when the reality is, by January 1 kids are still out of school, most peoples’ brains and bodies are still in vacation mode, and the chances of successfully starting a new habit are slim to none.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a clean slate, a fresh start, and I love to see the number flip over into a new year. It can be super liberating. However, it can also set us up for failure and disappointment if we aim for too much too soon.

Personally, I rang in 2019 with illness and chaos. I didn’t even attempt to initiate new habits or well intentioned resolutions. I need my whole self to be in the game for that — the dreaming, the imagining, the planning, the intention setting.

Which brings me to some exciting news: I miss y’all!!! I took a little pause from coaching most of last year and realized that I miss it. I miss hearing about your dreams and intentions. I miss exploring with you how you’ll create the life you really want.

So, keep an eye out for new opportunities this year. I’ve got some ideas and plans cooking, and I will share them with you soon!

Sometimes life is like that, you know? We’re heading down a particular path, we may take a detour or two, or perhaps we take another path altogether. Then, we hear PIVOT!!!

Do you need to pivot? Are you ready for a new path, or maybe just a clearer vision around the one you’re on? Maybe you need to spend some time really considering where you are now and where you want to go. Good. There’s plenty of time for that.

In the meantime, breathe. Be gentle with yourself as you go into this new year. It doesn’t all have to happen at once. Make a list. Create a vision board. Write some ideas and thoughts in a journal. Have coffee with your BFF, and give yourself permission to dream — even in February.
